Blood Drive @MCCC

On Thursday, February 8, 2024 Mercer County Community College (1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor) will host a Blood Drive. Come and donate at the Student Center, Room SC104 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Appointments are preferred; however, walk-ins are welcome if space permits. Participants are asked to eat a few hours prior to donating and drink plenty of water throughout the day. Photo ID is required. 

Your essential donation will provide life-saving blood to patients in need of surgery, cancer treatment and transfusions. To schedule an appointment, visit www.nybc.org/njdrive and use sponsor code 65534 or call 800-933-2566.

Winter Farmers' Market, Hinds Plaza

Finding Peter Hill: The Life and Times of a NJ Clockmaker, Morven

Join Morven's Interim Director and Curator Beth Allan for a special evening exploring the life and work of New Jersey clockmaker, Peter Hill. ? ? Peter Hill is the earliest documented Black clockmaker in America. It is believed that he made over one hundred tall case clocks during his lifetime, learning the craft while enslaved and then purchasing his own freedom. While developing Morven's current exhibition, Striking Beauty: New Jersey Tall Case Clocks, 1730-1830, Curators Beth Allan and Jesse Gordon Simons uncovered new documents about Hill's life.

"Talk of the Sourlands" Series, The African American's Deep Connection to Land: Stewardship and Conflict

The Sourland Conservancy is hosting their last, "Talk of the Sourlands," of the season: Back by popular demand, Donnetta Johnson will share an insightful look at the African-American relationship to environmentalism, land ownership, and land loss across America and in the Sourlands.

The fifth presentation of the Sourland Conservancy "Talk of the Sourlands" series, The African American's Deep Connection to Land: Stewardship and Conflict, will occur on February 8th, at 7:00 pm at the Titusville First Presbyterian Church. Seating is limited, but a hybrid model will be implemented, allowing participants to join from the comfort of their own homes.
