Hunterdon Land Trust Farmers’ Market

Hunterdon Land Trust opens a new Farmers’ Market season Sunday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dvoor Farm, 111 Mine St. in Flemington. The producers’-only market will run every Sunday through Nov. 19. Shoppers will find organic fruits and vegetables, all-natural meats, fresh-baked breads, cave-ripened cheeses, pies, plants, flowers, wine and more.

Most farmers accept credit cards. Parking is free and easily accessible.

Gould Lecture: Peter Singer, Princeton Public Library

The Australian philosopher and Princeton bioethics professor discusses the new edition of his book "Ethics in the Real World" as part of the annual Kenneth and Audrey Gould lecture.

Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for coffee and pastries. Peter Singer has been called one of the world’s most influential - and controversial - philosophers. He helped launch the animal rights and effective altruism movements and contributed to the development of bioethics. In "Ethics in the Real World: 90 Essays on Things That Matter," Singer shows that he is also a master at dissecting important current events in a few hundred words. An updated and expanded edition of the book, originally published in 2016, was released this year.

The Steinway Society and the New School for Music Study (NSMS) are pleased to present musicales featuring NSMS faculty to raise funds for an annual Steinway Society award. Proceeds will go towards this scholarship fund in support of deserving students. The concert will honor Alice Kuhn Bleimaier, the mother of Steinway Society founding member, John Bleimaier.
