Household Recycling and S.H.R.E.D. Fest Event

Corn Harvest, Howell Living History Farm

Get out your husking's time to pick corn! With more than 120,000 ears to pick, farmers could use your hand filling a horse-drawn wagon with field corn that will be ground into flour and donated to local food banks as part of Howell Farm's Share the Harvest Program. Next, head to the barn to help shell and grind corn for Howell Farm’s animals...or the farmhouse to make a batch of cornbread from freshly-ground cornmeal.

Hopewell Harvest Fair

The Harvest Fair returns again to the grounds of Hopewell Elementary School on Saturday October 21 from 10AM-4PM. A cherished local tradition, it attracts families from all over the area to enjoy a day of old-fashioned fun, while raising funds for local non-profits. Lead Sponsors of the 2023 Fair are Morehouse Engineering and Lakeland Bank.

Activities for kids of all ages: Games, Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, inflatables, free demos with the Hopewell Fire Department, Hopewell Valley Central High School SPIKE Robotics Club, and more!  Old-fashioned country fun: A bake-off, homegrown vegetable displays, a kids’ straw maze to explore, and free country games.  Entertainment all day: Great live music all day! Bluegrass, rock-n-roll, country, and more!

On a dark and stormy night, the howls of a werewolf echo across the grounds, a newly revived mummy stirs in its sarcophagus, and a mysterious portrait holds the key to an ancient family curse. $55 to $60. 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Wladyslaw Szpilman's harrowing account of the annihilation of Jewish life in Warsaw during World War II and his remarkable survival through the transcendent power of music. The Woman in BlackMcCarter Theater, 91 University Place, Princeton, 609-258-2787. A dark and scary mystery unfolds as an old man recounts the events of his youth when he went to the fog-embanked countryside of England to settle the estate of a family shrouded in a tragedy that continues to haunt (literally!) anyone who comes too close. The Rocky Horror ShowBucks County Playhouse, 70 South Main Street, New Hope, Pennsylvania, 215-862-2121. The musical that inspired the 1975 classic cult film, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," follows engaged couple Brad and Janet on the adventure to beat all adventures. $75 and up. 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
