Slavery, It Happened Here, Too – Stories from New Jersey, Part 2, The Sankofa Collaborative

The Sankofa Collaborative presents its final workshop of 2023 on Wednesday, October 11th, "Slavery, It Happened Here, Too – Stories from New Jersey, Part 2." Sponsored by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities and the New Jersey Historical Commission, the all-day workshop will focus on methods and sources for tracing African American history. Held at the Grounds For Sculpture, with continental breakfast at 8:30 am, the program will continue from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with lunch and afternoon refreshments. Registration is required at and the $60 registration includes admission to the Grounds For Sculpture and meals.

Yoga in the Garden, Morven Museum & Garden

Evening Yoga in Morven's garden is back this fall! Please join us for this donation-based movement practice. In the event of rain, we will move into the museum's Stockton Education Center - a lovely, peaceful space for an uplifting evening. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one.

9th Annual Amazing Pumpkin Carve

The Hopewell Valley Arts Council is proud to announce the return of the Amazing Pumpkin Carve, back bigger and better than ever. In its ninth year, this year the Carve will be like an old-time festival with expanded activities and, of course, outrageously carved giant pumpkins. Visitors can wander through a captivating illuminated walk of creative Halloween fun from Wednesday, October 11 to Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Woolsey Park, Titusville, NJ.

Don't miss your chance to celebrate fall fun in Hopewell Valley while supporting the many talented artists who call this region home. The Amazing Pumpkin Carve is open for five days only: Wed, Oct 11 to Sun, Oct 15 at Woolsey Park, 221 Washington Crossing-Pennington Road, Titusville, NJ. kids in strollers are free. Vocal Ensemble Chanticleer, Princeton University Concerts

Princeton University Concerts ("PUC") launches its 130th Concert Classics series with multi–Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer making their Princeton debut. The festivities begin on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 7:30PM, when Chanticleer invites amateur community members of all ages to sing alongside them in the Princeton University Chapel as part of PUC's free annual Chamber Jam. The following day, a second free event features Chanticleer performing as part of a Live Music Meditation at 12:30PM, followed by a ticketed evening performance on PUC's Concert Classics mainstage series at Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall.

Prior to the performance on Thursday, October 12, at 6:30PM all event ticketholders are invited to join composer Majel Connery, Princeton University Glee Club director Gabriel Crouch, English Professor Jeff Dolven, and Chanticleer director Tim Keeler for "The Art of Choral Arrangement," a pre-concert discussion in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall.
