Fridays at Mercer Cemetery at Trenton

Gather with a spirited group of friends each Friday during September to learn more about the historic Mercer Cemetery at Trenton! Break away from your office or home to enjoy live music (Yes, live!) as well as food trucks! Weather will dictate whether the event will take place.

Participating food trucks include The Latest Dish, Shabazz Fish & Chips, Chic Gourmet Empanadas, Ice Dreamz Water Ice, and H&S Ice Cream.

Fridays at Mercer Cemetery at Trenton will begin Friday, September 1 and will repeat itself on September 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th. The event will run from 11am to 2pm. The Mercer Cemetery at Trenton is located at 42 South Clinton Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08625.

Foraging & Feasting, Cherry Grove Farm

4:00 PM - 7:00 PM

We'll begin by taking a walk around Cherry Grove Farm to identify some fresh edible weeds and, if we're lucky, some mushrooms. These vary according to the season. Herbalist Tish will also discuss some of the medicinal virtues of each plant and show you how to make some delicious vinegars with freshly gathered plants. We will finish by tasting some wild food cuisine, which will be complemented with Cherry Grove's cheeses, and maybe even some herbal cordials.

Sunset Sips & Sounds, Terhune Orchards

Art Reception, Straube Center

Straube Center is currently hosting - "Journey of Self" - a four artist show featuring Luna Sconty, Gary Fourneir, Adriana Groza, and Franne Demetrician, themed around identity and self expression. Please join us for a reception  September 8th from 5-7 pm at 108 West Franklin Avenue, Pennington NJ. Light refreshments will be provided. The show will be running from August 1st to October 1st.

Oppenheimer Walking Tour, Historical Society of Princeton

Tavern Night, Old Barracks Museum

On Friday, September 8th, the Old Barracks will be hosting Tavern Night. Enjoy savory hors-d'oeuvres as well as an open beer and wine bar all while immersing yourself in an 18th century tavern. Share drinks, play games, and learn dance steps to the most popular songs with ladies and gentlemen from the period as well as modern guests.

Tickets are available on our website for $70 each, $60 for Old Barracks Association members. Tickets will not be sold at the door. No one under 21 is permitted at Tavern Night.

This fundraiser supports educational initiatives for thousands of New Jersey students through innovative programs such as our 'Meet the Past' field trips, virtual tours, Saturday living history programming, and more. South Brunswick Jazz Café Concert – James Stewart Quintet

James Stewart was born in Trenton NJ on February 24th, 1957. He started playing the violin in elementary school and eventually switched to clarinet and saxophone in middle school and flute in high school. His high school music teachers were Thomas Passerella and Thomas Gryce (brother of Gi Gi Gryce, a world-famous composer and saxophonist). James has a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education from New Jersey City University and has taught music in the NJ Department of Corrections from 1984 to 2018. James has performed and recorded with The Lionel Hampton Big Band, Sun Ra Arkestra, Danny Mixon, Frank Foster Big Band and Craig Harris. He has also performed with The Dells, The Temptations, Macy Gray, Valery Simpson, Angela Bofill, Vinnie Knight and Sarah Dash.
