Mercer County residents are encouraged to bring their hazardous waste and electronics to be recycled on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., at the Dempster Fire School located at 350 Lawrence Station Road, Lawrence Township.
Accepted hazardous waste items include aerosol cans, used motor oil, propane gas tanks, pesticides and herbicides, car batteries, paint thinner, oil-based paint, stains and varnishes, gasoline anti-freeze, driveway sealer, insect repellents, mercury and fluorescent bulbs. Accepted electronic waste include computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, stereos, televisions, and microwaves.

As affordable housing requirements are met, urban planner and Princeton resident Tony Nelessen leads a workshop visualizing what Princeton might look like in 2035 at a presentation Saturday, Sept. 23, at 9 am. at Princeton Public Library. The four-hour workshop, “More Housing is Coming, Where Will It Go?” will be held in the Community Room in partnership with Princeton Future, a local nonprofit not affiliated with the municipality.

First day for new exhibit in the New Jersey Artists Series. In her process-driven canvases, Jersey City based Caroline Burton draws on architectural and agricultural forms, nature, and elements of chance for inspiration. Her often experimental painting practice includes the rejoining of torn canvas with thread, as well as the use of discarded afghan blankets and scarfs as matrices for printing directly on canvas.
