Thinking about homeschooling but not sure where to begin? SHLC is an educational enrichment program, offering weekly academic classes for homeschooled students in preschool to grade 12. Join us for our annual program open house on May 6th! This is an opportunity to learn more about SHLC, meet teachers, participate in our curriculum swap, and get to know our supportive community. The Latin American Legal Defense and Education Fund (LALDEF) is proud to sponsor “When Compassion Defeated Cruelty,” the story of how Martha’s Vineyard opened its arms to warmly welcome a planeload of Venezuelan immigrants, beating Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at his own game. Program will include speakers from the Vineyard as well as local and regional immigration authorities, who will lead a discussion/Q&A on policy.

Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie will host a two-part Saturday afternoon lecture series by award-winning author and presidential historian Louis Picone May 6 and May 20. Both programs will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and will include a Q&A and a book signing reception along with the lectures. Trenton City Museum is in historic Cadwalader Park, accessed by car from Parkside Ave. It offers plenty of building-adjacent parking.
