The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) and African American Cultural Collaborative of Mercer County (AACCMC) will present their monthly Story & Verse on Friday, August 19 at Pettoranello Gardens. This poetic and storytelling outdoor open mic, free and open to all, is the last outdoor event this summer before the event moves back indoors to the ACP's Solley Theater.
Story & Verse was established in February 2020 and has continued monthly since. Story & Verse welcomes local and regional talent to perform original works inspired by a monthly theme, providing attendees with free, community-created entertainment. This August, performers are invited to present original work inspired by this month's theme, "Circle of Life".
The event will begin at 6pm. Interested performers should arrive by 5:45pm. Pettoranello Gardens, 20 Mountain Avenue, Princeton. Free and open to the public. For more information, visit artscouncilofprinceton.org.

A zany rich-boy-meets-hometown-girl romantic comedy, Crazy For You® tells the story of young New York banker Bobby Child, who is sent to Deadrock, Nevada, to foreclose on a rundown theatre. In Deadrock, Bobby falls for spunky Polly Baker, the theatre owner’s daughter. But Polly takes an instant dislike to the city slicker, so Bobby vows – through cunning, razzmatazz, and a hilarious case of mistaken identity – to win Polly’s heart and save the theatre. Memorable Gershwin tunes from the score include “I Got Rhythm,” “Naughty Baby,” “They Can't Take That Away from Me,” “Embraceable You,” “But Not for Me,” “Nice Work if You Can Get It” and “Someone to Watch Over Me.” ALL SALES ARE FINAL. TICKETS ARE NON REFUNDABLE.
