Historian Martin Mosho provides a comprehensive, one-hour review of the heroic and awesome accomplishments made by women, both North and South. He covers their role as administrators, journalists, nurses, spies, and combatants in an age when women were expected to stay home. These remarkable women defied the culture of their time, surpassed all expectations, and provided enormous support to the war effort. Sadly, they never received proper historical notice. This program reveals the enormity of their contributions and sacrifices. Q&A to follow. Sponsored by the Friends of the West Windsor Library.
