Today, expert beekeeper Bob Hughes will open the hives before your very eyes...to check the health of the residents and see how each colony fared through the winter. Mr. Hughes will introduce apiary visitors to a queen, drones, and worker bees before giving a 45-minute presentation, "Life in a Bee Colony." Parking and admission are free.
Please note that all 2022 Saturday programs will be modified to encourage social distancing and reflect current State guidelines for public events. Visitors are required to carry masks at all times, and wear them when social distancing isn't possible.

Join Watershed Fellow Kate Hode as she feeds the resident American eels and sunfish, including bluegills, pumpkin seed, and large-mouth bass. During a free 30-minute presentation, visitors will learn about the history, life cycles, and traits of these special critters, as well as some steps we can take to help preserve their habitats. The animals reside in a large tank that is on display in Discovery Hall inside of the Watershed Center.
For ages 2 and older. No registration is needed for this in-person, free activity.

In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, this event invites you to explore the Van Vleck gardens using your senses as your guide. Activity stations will be arranged throughout the property focusing on different textures, smells, shapes and colors found in the natural world. Meet and greet animals from Eyes of the Wild, an exotic animal rescue, and learn how these amazing creatures use their senses. This outdoor family program is an inclusive event, open to people of all ages and abilities and will be held entirely outdoors. In case of inclement weather, a rain date will be announced.

American Repertory Ballet (ARB) presents the world premiere of Ethan Stiefel’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, April 1-3, 2022 at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. Set to Felix Mendelssohn’s iconic score with additional music written for film by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, the enchanting production will transport audiences to a fantastical forest filled with fairies, elves, mischief, romance, joy and love. ARB’s Artistic Associate and American Ballet Theatre principal ballerina Gillian Murphy will dance the role of Oberon, leader of the elves.

Additional family-friendly activities will take place in the lobby of the NBPAC before each matinee performance, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
