6th Annual Mercer Indoor Row for the Cure

PNRA/Mercer will host the 6th Annual Indoor Row for the Cure. The event will be in person for Mercer Junior athletes on Saturday, March 5 and virtual for all others who wish to partipate. Virtual racing will take place individually between February 26 and March 5. Virtual racers must send a screenshot of the 2K by noon on March 5 to Hilary Gehman. Winners of each event will receive a pink hammer. Proceeds from the event will go to the YWCA Princeton's Breast Cancer Resource Center and to Susan G. Komen.

Volunteer Land Steward Session, FOPOS @Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve

Join FOPOS for a Volunteer Land Steward Session on Saturday, March 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve. Volunteers will work under the guidance of FOPOS’ Natural Resources and Stewardship Director, Anna Corichi, to identify and remove target invasive plant species and protect the nearly 8,000 native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers that were planted in the Forest Restoration site over the past 2 years.

Registration via Eventbrite is required. We meet at the Mountain Lake House Parking lot, 57 Mountain Ave, Princeton NJ, and then walk over to the project site as a group. Be sure to drive down the long paved driveway entrance to the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve, marked by a series of white mail boxes, the gravel parking lot is on your left about a 1/2 mile down the driveway. PPPL's Science on Saturday Lecture Series

Travis Miles, Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences, Rutgers University, “Ocean Robotics for the New Blue Economy”

Other talks will focus on a variety of topics, including plasma physics, ocean robotics, and auroras. The lectures will be offered live online for the third year and will be held at 9:30 a.m. weekly through March 12. (There is no lecture on Feb. 19 due to the Department of Energy's Science Bowl.) You must register online one time to get a link to attend all the lectures.

24th Annual Cranbury Craft Show

The 24th annual Cranbury Craft Show will kick off the first weekend in March with more than 100 exhibitors. Artisans showcasing their amazing talents and a fun shopping experience. The show is family-friendly, featuring a wide-range of handmade items: jewelry, art, photography, pottery, candles, pet apparel, clothing, toys, gourmet foods, candy, desserts, and more.

Free Rabies Clinic, Princeton Animal Control

Princeton Animal Control and the Princeton Health Department are hosting a Spring Rabies Clinic for cats and dogs on at the Princeton Fire Department, located at 363 Witherspoon Street. This clinic is free for residents of New Jersey. All pets must be at least 3 months old. Dogs must be on a leash no longer than six feet and all cats must be in a carrier. Winter Fairy Festival @The Watershed

Two sessions: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM AND 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

Winter fairies and friends gather together for some magical activities at the Watershed. We'll build winter fairy cottages using natural materials, search for fairies hidden at each activity station, create fun crafts like fairies and pinecone bird feeders, and play fairy games such as fairy ring toss. Bundle up in your winter fairy finery for this all outdoors event. Wings encouraged!

Pruning Demonstration with Gary Mount, Terhune's

Gary Mount, owner of Terhune Orchards, is offering a free pruning class in his orchards on Sunday, March 5- 11:00am. Mr. Mount is frequently asked for his advice on pruning and other cultural practices in the orchards. Mr. Mount will explain how he prunes and answer questions right out in the orchards. He will also discuss new varieties of fruit trees suitable for planting by the homeowner and the difference between various rootstocks. The class will be held rain or shine. Terhune Orchards’ own cider and donuts will be served as refreshments.
