Story & Verse: Storytelling & Poetic Open Mic, Arts Council of Princeton

Enjoy an evening of community-created entertainment in the form of storytelling and poetic open mic. All are welcome to tell a well-prepared story or perform their poetry. Each month, we’ll be inviting inspiration from a well-known song title. Performers are invited to interpret the theme as broadly as they wish and must bring their own work inspired by this month’s theme: Love and Lessons. Free RSVP here.

Popcorn Falls, Kelsey Theatre

If you liked Schitts Creek, you’ll love Popcorn Falls. Maurer Productions OnStage presents this offbeat comedy which was a hit off-Broadway in 2018. POPCORN FALLS is the story of a small town forced into bankruptcy when a neighboring town threatens to turn them into a sewage treatment plant. Their solution? Put on a show! Two actors play 21 characters in this high-energy, laugh-filled 90-minute race to save their beloved town. Recommended for ages 12 and up.

The Murphy Beds, Princeton Folk Music Society

The Princeton Folk Music Society presents an evening of traditional and original folk songs with The Murphy Beds, with close harmonies and deft instrumental arrangements on bouzouki, guitar, and mandolin. Christ Congregation Church, 50 Walnut Lane, Princeton, NJ.

A Doll's House at Theatre Intime

Theatre Intime, Princeton University's only student theater on campus, is proud to present A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen, translated by Rolf Fjelde, as part of our 2021-2022 mainstage season!

Nora thinks she is happy in her marriage until a past lie bubbles to the surface. A Doll's House is the story of how a woman finds her voice and takes agency over her own life. This reimagining of Ibsen's classic play takes place in a literal doll's house.

Performances are February 18th-20th and 25th-27th at 8 PM. Tickets are $8 for students or free through Passport to the Arts, $10 for faculty/seniors, and $12 for general audiences, and are available online at tickets.princeton.edu (preferred), the Frist ticketing office at 609-258-9220, or at the Theatre Intime box office 45 minutes before each show time.

Gypsy, Music Mountain Theater

Regarded by many theatre professionals as the finest musical ever created, Gypsy is the ultimate tale of an ambitious stage mother fighting for her daughters' success - while secretly yearning for her own. Set all across America in the 1920s and 30s, when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born, Arthur Laurents' landmark show explores the world of two-bit show business with brass, humor, heart, and sophistication. 

Running Time: 2 Hours and 45 Minutes
