Talley's Folly, Kelsey Theatre

"Talley's Folly," the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by American playwright Lanford Wilson, will be the first production of the new year at Kelsey Theatre on the campus of Mercer County Community College, 1200 Old Trenton Road in West Windsor.

PinnWorth Productions presents this Pulitzer Prize-winning romantic comedy by Lanford Wilson, which is a poignant valentine to unlikely love. On a moonlit night in 1944 Missouri, middle-aged Jewish accountant Matt Friedman has only one chance to win the heart of Sally Talley, a 31-year-old ‘old maid’ from a bigoted Protestant family. After a lifetime of believing they’ll never truly belong in the world around them, Matt and Sally reawaken one another to love, ultimately finding that they do belong – together.

Princeton History Walking Tour, Historical Society of Princeton

Enjoy a 90-minute walk around downtown Princeton and the University campus as you learn about historic sites in the area, including Bainbridge House, Nassau Hall, the University Chapel and Palmer Square. The early history of Princeton, the founding of the University, and the American Revolution are just some of the stories from Princeton’s history that you will learn on your tour.

Tickets are $10. Advance purchase is required. Tour starts in the courtyard of the Princeton Battle Monument (GPS address: 1 Monument Drive).

Three Kings Day Flamenco Performance, Arts Council of Princeton

Fiesta del Día de Los Reyes Magos, or Three Kings Day, is celebrated throughout the world to mark the culmination of the twelve days of Christmas. This live dance performance by the Arts Council’s Flamenco program, led by Lisa Botalico, will feature multiple dance numbers as you learn about this cultural holiday and end the holiday season in celebration! Space is limited and registration is required.

2:30pm: Youth Flamenco performance

4pm: Adult Flamenco performance

Film and Discussion: "Mama Africa: Miriam Makeba!", Princeton Public Library

The classic documentary tracing the life of Miriam Makeba will be screened followed by a discussion led by Paula Alekson of McCarter Theatre Center. In advance of the opening of the new musical "Dreaming Zenzile" by Somi Kakoma, Mika Kaurismäki’s 2011 documentary biography on the iconic “Zenzile” herself: South African singer, activist, and international star, Miriam Makeba will be shown.
