The Nutcracker, American Repertory Ballet @State Theatre of New Jersey

American Repertory Ballet (ARB), under the leadership of Artistic Director Ethan Stiefel, returns to the State Theatre to perform the beloved classic Nutcracker with Tchaikovsky's magnificent score, stunning sets, thrilling choreography, and a live orchestra. Nutcracker tells the story of a young girl named Clara and how a mysterious gift from her Uncle Drosselmeyer brings about enchanted dreams and fantastical scenes.

Young Clara sneaks downstairs on Christmas Eve to play with her favorite present – a Nutcracker – when she is suddenly confronted by the menacing Mouse King! Her Nutcracker prince comes alive, saves her and whisks her away to the Land of The Sweets where Snow Queen & King, snow fairies, dancing sugar plums and toy soldiers all await her. The NJ Dance Connection presents this classic ballet, set to Tchaikovsky’s magical score – abridged and fully narrated! Family and friends of all ages can celebrate the holiday season together at this delightful performance.

Note: Proof of Vaccination (or negative Covid test) required at door for 12 and up. Masks for 2 and up.

Princeton History Walking Tour, Historical Society of Princeton

Enjoy a 90-minute walk around downtown Princeton and the University campus as you learn about historic sites in the area, including Bainbridge House, Nassau Hall, the University Chapel and Palmer Square. The early history of Princeton, the founding of the University, and the American Revolution are just some of the stories from Princeton’s history that you will learn on your tour.

Tickets are $10. Advance purchase is required. Tour starts in the courtyard of the Princeton Battle Monument (GPS address: 1 Monument Drive).

From its beginning, opera has been an impossible art and composer Matthew Aucoin, a rising star of the opera world, posits that it is this impossibility that gives opera its exceptional power and serves as its lifeblood. The virtuosity required of its performers, the bizarre and often spectacular nature of its stage productions, the creation of a whole world whose basic fabric is music—opera assumes its true form when it pursues impossible goals.

Holiday Lights Ride, Trenton Cycling Revolution

Check out the lights our neighbors have put up for the holidays! This chill, five-mile ride starts at the Christmas tree in front of City Hall and goes through downtown and Chambersburg with a stop at the Latino Merchants Association Center for warm beverages. Dress warm and put lights on your bike.
