The Neutral Ground: Film Screening + Conversation with CJ Hunt and Darcy McKinnon, National Museum of African American History and Culture
Join comedian/director CJ Hunt, producer Darcy McKinnon, and renowned historians in a moderated discussion of The Neutral Ground. Hunt’s debut feature documentary premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival and was broadcast nationally on POV, America’s longest-running documentary showcase on PBS. The Neutral Ground presents the intense debate about the removal of Confederate monuments — beginning in New Orleans before focusing on Richmond and Charlottesville — and America’s troubled history with the “Lost Cause” narrative. Links will be provided to registered guests to stream the documentary up to one week prior to the panel discussion.
