Bike SONJ: Ride for Inclusion, A Benefit for Special Olympics New Jersey

Bike SONJ: Ride for Inclusion is back in-person this year at Skillman Park in Montgomery, NJ on Saturday, October 23, and hope you will join us for a 15, 30, 50, or newly added 80 mile ride to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics New Jersey, while taking on the rolling hills and enjoying the scenery of Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset Counties. Bike SONJ takes places during the Special Olympics New Jersey Fall Games Cycling competition so you can see firsthand how your funds support and impact the athletes! West Windsor Community Farmers Market

Opening Day of the West Windsor Community Farmers Market’s eighteenth year begins Saturday, May 1. To keep everyone safe and distanced, the entrance to the market has changed to 877 Alexander Road through the upper Vaughn Lot. The Market will run each and every Saturday, rain or shine from 9am-1pm until Thanksgiving featuring seventeen farms and twenty artisan food makers and a knife sharpener, all from within fifty-miles of West Windsor. 

Joining the roster this year are three farms: Moonshot Farms, Snapping Turtle Farm, and SpiceBush Farm along with Catalina Empanadas, Pure Indian Foods, River Horse Brewery, Sourland Mountain Spirits, Tea-For-All. Look for more organic produce, East Asian vegetables, beer, local spirits, and grass-fed ghee. Mask wearing continues to be required by all, and hand sanitizer stations are located throughout.

Pennington Farmers Market

We are open every Saturday, 9 a.m. through 1 p.m. beginning in June and ending in October.

The mission of the Pennington Farmers Market is to provide growers and producers within fifty miles of Pennington, New Jersey an opportunity to sell directly to the public; to promote the nutritional, environmental, and community health benefits of sustainable living; and to create a unique atmosphere in which to appreciate the agriculture, arts, culture, and character of Hopewell Valley. City Hall is the largest municipal building, with "the most comprehensive sculptural decoration of any American building". We'll shoot around City Hall and Dilworth Park, capturing images of monuments and sculptures, including the newly-restored LOVE sculpture at nearby LOVE Park.

Historic Stony Brook Walking Tour, Historical Society of Princeton

Before there was a “Princeton,” Quaker families established a community on the fertile ground along Stony Brook. This part-lecture, part 2-mile hike explores the lives of the early settlers and the community they established, while following a portion of the trail George Washington took from Trenton to the Princeton Battlefield. Stops include the Stony Brook Meeting House and Burial Ground, walking a portion of the “hidden” back road into Princeton, and a view of the Battlefield.

Autumn Hike at the Pond, The Watershed Institute

Come and explore the trail around Wargo Pond! We will go on a hike to learn about and observe the changes of the autumn season. We will focus on the animal and plant life that lives around the pond and the changes they go through as they prepare for winter. Be ready for a long walk and to get muddy! Ages 10 and up. In-person program. Adult attendance required; masks and social distancing encouraged. Discount available for members. Dress for the weather.
