SPEAK UP FOR A CHILD! Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Mercer & Burlington Counties is currently seeking new volunteers! CASA for Children of Mercer & Burlington Counties is a non-profit organization that recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who speak up in Family Court for the best interests of children that have been removed from their families due to abuse and/or neglect and placed in the foster care system.

On Wednesday, October 13 at 1:00pm, Boheme Opera returns to in-person lecture performance at Monroe Township Library, 4 Municipal Plaza in Monroe Township, when it presents Scandal! This presentation will trace the colorful and scandalous lives of opera divas Maria Callas, Maria Malibran and Madamoiselle Maupin. Performing from the operas of Puccini, Verdi, Rossini, Lully and more will be sopranos Eve Edwards, Jacqueline Quirk and Sungji Kim.
Grant funding for Scandal! has been provided by Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, through a grant award from the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund. The event is free to the public with limited seating.

Join us virtually as we discuss how to research your family tree using your MCLS library card and online research databases such as the Library Edition of Ancestry.com, HeritageQuest, and others. This class is designed for grandparents-to-be and new grandparents. It will be presented by Carolyn Schindewolf, a health educator with Princeton Health Community Wellness. Topics range from the changing birth environment to safety considerations, including: car seat laws and recommendations, SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) risk reduction, transitioning your role from parent to grandparent, and newborn characteristics.
