NAMIWalks Your Way Mercer County

On May 22, 2021, NAMIWalks will be a virtually virtual experience, united with NAMIWalks across the country. NAMIWalks Your Way means instead of putting one foot in front of the other, you get to put one feat in front of the other: participants get to use their creativity, with the main rule that we continue to advance towards our goal by leaps and bounds. The choice is yours on how you want to make this spring’s event fit into this spring’s reality.

Our collective mental health needs are at their greatest now. One in three U.S. adults reported experiencing depression or anxiety since the pandemic began. NAMI’s programs and advocacy are needed more than ever, and with your help, we are pleased to present NAMIWalks Your Way on Saturday, May 22, 2021,

West Windsor Community Farmers Market

Opening Day of the West Windsor Community Farmers Market’s eighteenth year begins Saturday, May 1. To keep everyone safe and distanced, the entrance to the market has changed to 877 Alexander Road through the upper Vaughn Lot. The Market will run each and every Saturday, rain or shine from 9am-1pm until Thanksgiving featuring seventeen farms and twenty artisan food makers and a knife sharpener, all from within fifty-miles of West Windsor. 

Joining the roster this year are three farms: Moonshot Farms, Snapping Turtle Farm, and SpiceBush Farm along with Catalina Empanadas, Pure Indian Foods, River Horse Brewery, Sourland Mountain Spirits, Tea-For-All. Look for more organic produce, East Asian vegetables, beer, local spirits, and grass-fed ghee. Mask wearing continues to be required by all, and hand sanitizer stations are located throughout.

Family Exploration on the Stony Brook Trail, The Watershed

Join us on a hike to explore the Stony Brook as it winds through the Watershed Reserve. By focusing on seasonal ecology, we will learn about a variety of plants and animals that live at the Watershed Reserve. Ages 8 and up. Dress for the weather of the day. Masks, social distancing, and adult attendance required. Discount available for members.

Aesop's Bops Family Event, NJ State Museum

Families with children Pre-K to 2nd grade

This high energy master storytelling performance explores the classic Aesop Fables. A zoo full of animal characters will be introduced along with lessons in cultivating compassionate relationships and communities. Space is limited so advanced registration is required; visit Eventbrite or the Museum website for registration link. Each registered child will receive a free activity bag to use before or after the event. Bags will be distributed curbside at the Museum the Friday before the program (bags cannot be mailed.)

2021 ArtWalk, West Windsor Arts

Join West Windsor Arts for their second annual ArtWalk on May 22nd from 11AM-2PM (Rain Date: May 23rd). Featuring a 1-mile family fun walk with art activities, family picnic, music, and more! Your registration includes art activities and completion certificate. Walk our route and pick up craft items along the way. We will keep everyone motivated and moving as they complete our 1-mile course. Return to the Arts Center to get your walk certificate, make your crafts, eat your picnic lunch under tents, and groove to the music. Registration is $25 per family of up to 4, children under 3 are free, $8 for individuals. Every registration will be entered to win one of three prize packages worth over $100!

The Lion King Jr - In Person, Princeton Friends School

Students at Princeton Friends School – like kids everywhere – have had quite an unusual school year. Luckily for this group, a year that was completely in-person with classes largely outdoors (and with zero COVID cases!) will be capped off with two weekends and seven total performances of The Lion King Jr., all to be held outdoors on the school’s playground.

Performances are scheduled to take place on May 13 and 14 at 6:30 p.m., May 15 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., May 21 at 6:30 p.m. and May 22 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, May 20 is being held as a potential rain date if needed. Tickets are available to the community at with a streaming option for those who can’t make it in person. Seating is first come, first served, and parking on campus is limited. Math E-Carnival, Institute for Advanced Study & Princeton Public Library

Professor Margaret Readdy and students from the Institute for Advanced Study's 2021 Women and Mathematics program present an interactive, fun and hands-on mathematics e-Carnival. Test your skills at solving mathematical challenges, try to decode secret messages, learn what math has to do with voting, and see if you can construct a one-sided piece of paper.

This program is open to children 6 years and older, teens, adults and families. A zoom link will be emailed the day of the event.
