How to Move a Museum: The Fine Art of Deinstallation, Princeton University Art Museum
For decades, objects have filled the Art Museum's galleries. Many hang on walls or sit on pedestals or in display cases; others, like the third-century mosaics from Antioch, were embedded into the Museum's floors and walls, never intended to be moved—until now. Join us as we reveal how we deinstall and transport artworks in advance of the new building being constructed. Participants include Chris Newth, associate director for collections and exhibitions, and Bart Devolder, chief conservator.
