Women's History Month: Women Justices of the Supreme Court, MCLS

It took 191 years after the founding of the Supreme Court for the first woman to be allowed to become part of that august body. Four magnificent women have achieved the position of Supreme Court Justice, with the recent addition of a fifth Amy Coney Barrett. Join Trish Chambers in a fascinating introduction to these accomplished jurists. Meet Sandra Day O'Connor, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan. Learn how their unique personalities and determination enabled them to break the glass ceiling to take their place in history, as they vote to clarify the intentions of the founding fathers regarding the United States Constitution. Online program by Dr. Maritza Jauregui, associate professor of sustainability at Stockton University, focuses on the factors that produce environmental hazards in vulnerable communities, while other communities are able to avoid such hazards completely. Forest Threats with Rosa Yoo, Sourland Conservancy

This talk will cover some of the current forest health threats that are present in the state, how to identify them, the damage they cause, and any management recommendations. Rosa will also cover some forest health threats that have not yet been detected in the state but have been detected in neighboring states, so things we should be looking for, and who to contact to report any suspicious findings. Some of the forest health threats Rosa covers include: emerald ash borer, beech leaf disease, oak wilt, bacterial leaf scorch, and winter moth.
