Racism, Law, Antisemitism, Jewish Center of Princeton

Sunday February 7, 2021
3:00 PM

With Ronald Schnur, PH.D. Interactive Zoom Class What would a World War II invasion and occupation of the British Isles, or even the US and Canada, by the Nazis have looked like, and more specifically, what would have been the fate for the local Jews? In fact, historically there was one such invasion and occupation: the part of Britain consisting of the Channel Islands of Jersey, Guernsey and others. In this presentation, accompanied by period photographs and maps, we will review this occupation to witness what happened when this area of English law, government and society encountered a totalitarian regime of racism and antisemitism.

For security reasons, Registration is required for all programs. To register, please send an email with your full name and the Course Code SCHNUR to: info@thejewishcenter.org Registration closes 24 hours before the class. We cannot accept late registrations.

Story & Verse Workshop, Arts Council of Princeton

Sunday February 7, 2021
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Story and Verse Workshops are built for artists to share works-in-progress and receive feedback from listeners. A safe place for artists to connect, these workshops are intended to be short (25 minutes for each artist; 2 artists per session), facilitated, and meaningful opportunities to fine-tune your story or poem. If you have a piece that you’re working on and want feedback from listeners, these sessions are for you! Or, if you want to be a member of the group that listens and provides feedback, your skills are welcome, too!

Interested poets and storytellers, please email us at storyandverselive@gmail.com.

From the deck of a Spanish sailing ship in 1492 to outside a penthouse apartment in New York City, Songs for a New World is an electrifying contemporary song cycle that ties characters from all walks of life and historical periods together to one strand of self-discovery and hope for the future in the face of adversity.
