Middle school virtual classes and high school virtual classes offered to those girls wanting to be a Villa girl for the day and learn more about our program. The virtual day is from 7:50 am to 11:50 am with a virtual meet and greet the day before.

Each session is led by a docent of the museum. Topics range from Contemporary African American Artist, the genesis of the Abstract Expressionist Movement and more. This session covers Sumerian, Egyptian, Chinese, and Mayan reasons for developing a written word. Led by PUAM Docent Laura Berlik.

The Same Principle Lives in Us People of African Descent in the American Revolution, Princeton Public Library

American Revolutionaries struggled with a key question: Would the words of the Declaration of Independence, that “all men are created equal,” apply to all people?

From the outbreak of the Revolution, people of African descent asked and answered this question through their words and actions. In this talk, offered by the Museum of the American Revolution, hear the stories and explore the objects used at the Museum to help imagine what the Revolution was like for Phillis Wheatley, Elizabeth Freeman, James Forten, Harry Washington and others. Registration is required for this program. Registrants will receive the Zoom link to access the program on the morning of the program.
