Virtual Info Session, LifeTies, Inc.

Monday November 30, 2020
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

LifeTies, located in Ewing, NJ, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to nurture wellness and self-sufficiency in vulnerable youth, young adults and their families. It is our vision that every youth and young adult can enjoy life's possibilities and have the resources to be healthy, connected and contributing members of their communities. Unfortunately the mental health challenges our youth deal with are being exacerbated by this global health crisis and we need the support of volunteers now more than ever.

Please join us at a virtual information session to learn more about how a small amount of your time can make a huge difference. Opportunities include mentoring (currently virtual), sharing knowledge & expertise to help youth attain life skills via Zoom, working on our event committee and more! Register at https://www.lifeties.org/volunteer/ or contact volunteer@lifeties.org for more information.

Book Launch - Kevin Vallier and Nolan McCarty's "Trust in a Polarized Age", Princeton Public Library

Monday November 30, 2020
7:00 PM

Americans today don't trust each other and their institutions as much as they once did. The collapse of social and political trust has arguably fueled our increasingly ferocious ideological conflicts and hardened partisanship. But is today's decline in trust inevitable or avoidable? Are we caught in a downward spiral that must end in institutional decay or even civil war, or can we restore trust through our shared social institutions?

In Trust in a Polarized Age, political philosopher Kevin Vallier offers a powerful counter-narrative to the prevailing sense of hopelessness that dogs the American political landscape. In this event, he will discuss his recently released book with Nolan McCarty.
