What outcomes are possible when young people choose Self-Directed Education (SDE) during their teenage years? Many families considering SDE worry if their child will be able to attend college or find a job as they transition to adulthood.

Ken Danford, Executive Director of North Star: Self-Directed Learning for Teens has nearly 25 years of experience supporting teens to direct their own education. In this session, Ken will summarize his research on the outcomes for nearly 600 North Star alumni and share their stories—how their lives improved while attending North Star and what path they followed in subsequent years.
