#iclapfor: Art Illumination on Hinds Plaza, Princeton Public Library

Thursday July 23, 2020
8:30 PM - 10:00 PM

It began in the UK with an idea between artist Ian Berry and his 6-year-old son Elliott. “I Clap For” was a reaction to the clapping that took off around the world in the evenings during lock downs. Their response has now been projected all around the globe. Twenty international artists were invited to join the project, including Princeton artist Andre Veloux whose contribution was created from Lego. Veloux will be present during the illumination, the first presentation of the project in New Jersey.

The animated clapping hands will be displayed on a continuous loop on the side of the library starting at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.) and continue until 10 p.m. Drop by to witness the illumination and join in the global clap for our front line workers.

The projection, which will run for 90 minutes, will be visible from the plaza outside the library. Please keep social distancing rules in mind and remember to wear a mask.
