In this livestream event author Monika Zgustová reads from her recently published book "Dressed for a Dance in the Snow: Women's Voices from the Gulag" (Translated by Julie Jones), talks about her research as well as the process used to collect these important oral histories that turn one of the darkest periods of the Soviet era into a song of human perseverance, in a way that reads as an intimate family history. May 4 - Join Cranbury Station Gallery for a virtual paint party class! Enjoy a relaxing evening painting a beautiful, acrylic canvas right from your home. Follow along on Zoom live stream with friends and family as artist and gallery owner, Kathie Morolda teaches you how to create “Seascape”! Find a serene place to design your masterpiece and have fun with it. Sips and snacks are encouraged! Seascape will be painted on two dates for your convenience!

Continuing Conversations on Race - Sheltering in the Place of Privilege: Legacy & Consequences

A critical examination of the realities of race, class and public health contradictions of the influenza pandemic of 1918 and COVID-19 in 2020

The Rev. Lukata Mjumbe will offer reflections and opportunity for dialogue about the historical legacy, and possible contemporary consequences, of the “Princeton Response” to global pandemics in the 20th and 21st centuries. Mjumbe is the Pastor of Witherspoon Street Presbyterian Church in Princeton. He is a lifelong activist, community organizer, public policy advocate and a high-honors graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary with a focus on religion and society.
