Continuing Conversations on Race - Sheltering in the Place of Privilege: Legacy & Consequences
A critical examination of the realities of race, class and public health contradictions of the influenza pandemic of 1918 and COVID-19 in 2020 The Rev. Lukata Mjumbe will offer reflections and opportunity for dialogue about the historical legacy, and possible contemporary consequences, of the “Princeton Response” to global pandemics in the 20th and 21st centuries. Mjumbe is the Pastor of Witherspoon Street Presbyterian Church in Princeton. He is a lifelong activist, community organizer, public policy advocate and a high-honors graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary with a focus on religion and society.
