How To Combat Harmful Development In Your Town - The Watershed Institute

Thursday April 30, 2020
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Ever wonder how a strip mall was built in a formerly forested lot? Or how a fast-food shop emerged in a residential neighborhood? At this free, online workshop, you’ll learn how developers go through the steps they need to win approval from local planning and/or zoning boards. Join us on April 30 for this virtual workshop that will share tools and tips on how to effectively combat these projects.

Our panel of experts will break down sample applications that would be submitted to planning and zoning boards. You will learn how your community’s land use plans and zoning are formulated, how zoning variances are allowed (and how to fight such proposals), and other topics. The panel will explore the public’s rights throughout the process, and how to learn about projects before it’s too late to block or alter them.

Thursday Virtual OPEN MIC Series, Princeton Friends School

Thursday April 30, 2020
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Whether you are new to the Princeton area or looking for a school with a better educational fit for your family, we encourage you to attend one of our virtual admissions events! Even though our campus is currently closed, we’ve organized some great ways for you to get to know us without leaving your home.

Every Thursday, we'll feature members of our faculty and staff in an informal OPEN MIC that will be guided by your questions. During this open format, you’ll get a chance to learn more about our community, curriculum, and the “special sauce” that makes us unique. This is your chance to ask all of your questions and find out if this school would be a good fit for your family.
