Frogs and Turtles: A Nature Scavenger Hunt
Sustainable Princeton, in partnership with the Princeton University Office of Sustainability, is launching the Birds and Mammals Nature Scavenger Hunt to safely honor Earth Day's 50th Anniversary. You might find salamanders and snakes in your yard, while local ponds and vernal pools can provide sites for tadpoles, frogs, and turtles. Just be sure to maintain social distance as you go nature hunting. County and state parks are now closed, but Princeton's municipal parks are currently open for walks. To join us, you only need to create an account with iNaturalist and sign up for the Frogs and Turtles of New Jersey project. When you find one of our slimy friends, use the app to make an observation, or take a picture to upload. If you don't know what you've found, the app helps by sharing suggestions. Check out our frequently asked questions to learn more about our iNaturalist projects.
