Historic Princeton Walking Tour - Bainbridge House

Enjoy a 90-minute walk around downtown Princeton and the University campus as you learn about historic sites in the area, including Bainbridge House, Nassau Hall, the University Chapel and Palmer Square. The early history of Princeton, the founding of the University and the American Revolution are just some of the stories from Princeton’s history that you will learn on your tour. Tickets are $7. Advance purchase is recommended, as space is limited. Tour starts OUTSIDE the Art@Bainbridge building. Walk up ticket sales are cash only; guides cannot provide change.

PARKING: Meters are enforced 7 days a week. Click here for details about parking in Princeton. Free parking is available on weekends in Princeton University’s numbered lots. Lot 10, on William Street, is closest to the start of the Sunday walking tour.

NSMS Faculty Recital - American Music

The New School for Music Study faculty recital series continues on February 23 at 2:30 p.m. (Nassau Presbyterian Church) with a concert celebrating American composers. Join faculty members Marvin Blickenstaff, Jason Gallagher, Esther Hayter, Angela Triandafillou Jones, Margie Nelson, Allison Shinnick, and Trevor Thornton as they present a wide array of American music, featuring compositions by Amy Beach, Aaron Copland, Tom Gereau, Charles Griffes, Scott Joplin, and Fanny Price.

The author speaks at the paperback release of her acclaimed novel, a love story about a young couple living amidst the political upheaval of 1953 Tehran. When violence erupts on the eve of their marriage, a result of the coup d’etat that forever changes their country’s future, the couple is separated and it seems they will never see each other again. Born in Turkey to Iranian parents, Marjan Kamali studied English Literature at UC Berkeley and received her MBA from Columbia University and an MFA from New York University. Her debut novel was “Together Tea.”

Westminster Conservatory Showcase

Westminster Conservatory presents its annual showcase featuring Westminster ensembles and students on Sunday, February 23 at 3 p.m. in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall on the Princeton University campus. The concert features the Westminster Community Orchestra conducted by Ruth Ochs as well as the Westminster Conservatory Children's Choirs conducted by Patricia Thel, Yvonne Macdonald, Chaequan Anderson, and John Paul Velez, winners of the Westminster Conservatory Concerto Competition, and students of the Westminster Choir College Opera Workshop, directed by Susan Shiplett Ashbaker and Nova Thomas. The program includes works by Bach, Bertaux, Chaminade, Crusell, Donizetti, Faure, Gilbert and Sullivan, Grieg, Mozart, Smetana, and the world premiere of "Skylands" by Westminster composer Sam Scheibe. $15/10,
