Alcohol & Drug Use Prevention, Ewing Library

Presented by Darlene Andes (Mercer County Division of Public Health). This program will provide information and education on the risks associated with excessive alcohol use, including binge drinking and education on drug addiction, particularly opioid addiction, and opioid overdose prevention. The 2018 Mercer County Community Health Assessment (CHA) carried out by the Greater Mercer Public Health Partnership (GMPHP) noted alcoholism as an area for concern in Mercer County. In New Jersey, drug overdose deaths increased 29.3% from 2016-2017.
