"Lost Archives and Sacred Wastebins: The Cairo Geniza and the Global Middle Ages," will be the topic of a presentation by Marina Rustow, Khedouri A. Zilkha Professor of Jewish Civilization in the Near East at Princeton University and Director of the Princeton Geniza Lab, at the meeting of 55-Plus at 10:00 a.m., Thursday September 19, at the Jewish Center of Princeton, 435 Nassau Street, Princeton, NJ. The Westminster Conservatory at Nassau noontime recital series will open its 18th season with a recital of music for oboe and piano on Thursday, September 19 at 12:15 p.m. in Nassau Presbyterian Church's Niles Chapel in Princeton. Admission is free.
The performers, Melissa Bohl, oboe and Phyllis Alpert Lehrer, piano, are members of the teaching faculty of Westminster Conservatory. They will perform Claude Debussy's Images, Book 1 for solo piano and two works for oboe and piano, the Sonate by Francis Poulenc and Solo pour hautbois by Émile Paladilhe.
