Recent events have demonstrated the need to always have an adequate supply of blood on hospital shelves. Blood collected before major incidents is what is used when patients arrive at hospitals. Blood that is collected at the time of these events is helpful for subsequent surgeries and restocking shelves. Summer is the most difficult time of year to keep u the blood supply so we encourage donors to take the time to donate now.
