Library Live at Labyrinth: Sam Lipsyte in Conversation with Jana Martin and Virginia Harabin

Sam Lipsyte discusses his new novel, “Hark,” a dark comedy of personal and political collapse. He will be joined in conversation by Jana Martin, feminist cultural and music critic and author, and Virginia Harabin, Labyrinth bookseller. Lipsyte’s other works include “Home Land,” which was a New York Times Notable Book and received the first annual Believer Book Award. He teaches at Columbia University. Jana Martin is a fiction and nonfiction writer, activist and musician. She is the author of “Russian Lover and Other Stories,” “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes” and “Great Inventions/Good Intentions.” Virginia Harabin is the general manager of Labyrinth Books, a comic artist and a writer.

Author Jamie Bernstein: “Famous Father Girl”, Princeton Public Library

The eldest daughter of revered composer/conductor Leonard Bernstein discusses her book “Famous Father Girl: A Memoir of Growing up Bernstein.” The broadly evocative memoir offers an intimate look at Bernstein on the centennial of his birth. In “Famous Father Girl,” the author mines the emotional depths of her childhood and invites readers into her family’s private world. A fantastic set of characters populates the Bernsteins’ lives, including the Kennedys, Mike Nichols, John Lennon, Richard Avedon, Stephen Sondheim, Jerome Robbins and Betty (Lauren) Bacall.

Labyrinth Books will be on site and a book signing will follow the talk.
