Please join us from 7:30-9 p.m. on Thursday evenings starting Jan. 17 and discover the wonderful readings of classic and contemporary nature prose and poetry. Explore how writers from Genesis to modern times have captured the natural world, addressing their own time even as they transcend it. More than a reading group, this course will open your eyes to the varied terrain of nature in literature. Instructed by Dr. Winifred Hughes Spar, Ph.D.

Plant Invaders: How your garden can affect a forest, Lambertville Goes Wild

Thursday January 17, 2019
7:30 PM

Michael Van Clef will present 'Plant Invaders: How your garden can affect a forest' on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. at the Philip L. Pittore Justice Center/ACME Screening Room, 25 South Union Street, Lambertville, New Jersey.

Many non-native, invasive plant species are commonly sold in garden centers. They often start as eye-catching ornamental plants only to gallop into natural areas where they out-compete our native species. Management of these "invasives" is a daunting but necessary task to preserve native wildlife, who rely on native plants to live. Come learn more about this important topic and how you can help!

This free program is cosponsored by Lambertville Goes Wild and the Lambertville Environmental Commission. It was made possible by a generous donation from Spiezle Architectural Group, Inc. in Hamilton, New Jersey.
