"Whole Grains on Every Plate", McCaffrey's Princeton

September is National Whole Grain month! Join Jill Kwasny, MS, RDN for a free program "Whole Grains on Every Plate" on Thursday, September 20th. Learn how to recognize whole grains and find out why it is so important to include whole grains in your diet. Identify what a proper portion size is and discover easy ways to prepare different whole grains. Find out which grains are complete proteins and which grains are gluten free.

The program will be held on Thursday, September 20 at McCaffrey's from 1:30 – 2:30, in the upstairs bistro area, at the McCaffrey's in Princeton located in the Princeton Shopping Center at 301 N. Yoga for Kids, The Community Well

Yoga helps to strengthen our bodies and steady our minds, allowing us to focus and feel better. In this series, tailored to elementary school kids, students will learn how to exercise their bodies through age-appropriate yoga poses and discover ways to settle their thoughts through relaxation techniques and breath practices. Through this weekly class, kids will be given the time to play, have fun and get centered.

Classes are taught by Yogi Jen, a certified Kidding Around Yoga instructor. This series is appropriate for elementary school children. Thursdays, 9/20 to 10/25, from 4:15 to 5:15 pm. $50 for the 6-week series, pre-registration required.

Welcoming Week Cultural Fair - Princeton Public Library

Residents are encouraged to come and share their culture by bringing items and sharing stories that represent their traditions. The event will celebrate the mix of countries, traditions and ethnic backgrounds of the people who live in our community.

For our 50th anniversary year, we are hosting Dr. Dan Domenech, author of 'Personalizing 21st Century Education', and grandfather to two students in our school, as our guest speaker. He was chosen as he has a message, based on his many years of experience as a leader of public schools, that the schools of the present and future should embody a model of personalized learning, modeled in Montessori schools. Dr. Daniel A. Domenech serves as the Executive Director of the American Association of School Administrators. Dr. Domenech has more than 40 years of experience in public education. He served as senior vice president for national urban markets with McGraw-Hill Education and was responsible for building strong relationships with large school districts nationwide. He served as Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools, among other career positions.

History of Trenton – Mercer Airport

On Thursday, September 20th at 7:00 pm the Lawrence Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library System will host Howard Bueschel, long time Ewing resident and former associate professor of aviation history and law at Mercer County Community College as he discusses the history of Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN). The airport opened in 1929 in order to better connect Mercer County to the rest of the nation. Learn all about the fascinating history behind our growing local airport.
