Book Club: The Overstory by Richard Powers

Tuesday August 14, 2018
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

NJ NOFA-NJ Book Club: The Overstory by Richard Powers - The book club event on 8/14 will be at a private residence in Princeton. Interested attendees will need to register to get information and directions. Book clubs are free to attend, pre-registration:

In this New York Times bestseller, five strangers are summoned together by trees in order to save the continent’s last few remaining acres of virgin forest. In his twelve novel, Richard Powers delivers an impassioned read of activisim and resistance that is also an evocation of the natural world. Through interwoven fables Powers explores an age old conflict: man versus nature. If trees could talk what would they tell us about the invisible world we live alongside? An excellent read for anyone who has become disillusioned by humanity’s seperation from the rest of creation and hope for a regenerative and transformative homecoming.
