Fridays at Mercer Cemetery at Trenton

Gather with a spirited group of friends each Friday during September to learn more about the historic Mercer Cemetery at Trenton! Break away from your office or home to enjoy live music (Yes, live!) as well as food trucks! Weather will dictate whether the event will take place.

Participating food trucks include The Latest Dish, Shabazz Fish & Chips, Chic Gourmet Empanadas, Ice Dreamz Water Ice, and H&S Ice Cream.

Fridays at Mercer Cemetery at Trenton will begin Friday, September 1 and will repeat itself on September 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th. The event will run from 11am to 2pm. The Mercer Cemetery at Trenton is located at 42 South Clinton Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08625.

Once the Dust Settles Flowers Bloom, McCarter Theatre

Olivier Tarpaga’s deeply humanist piece “Once the Dust Settles Flowers Bloom” gives voice and body to the refugees of Burkina Faso and the Sahel region, who, having fled the shadow of jihadists, settle in camps far from their homes. Looking beyond the horror, the work channels the strength and beauty of this displaced population. With six dancers and five musicians who count themselves among the best in Africa, Tarpaga confronts the tragedy of his homeland with a “feminist Africanist” piece that carries the hope that once the dust has settled, flowers will bloom again, and the songs and dances will return.
