News08/05/2019: Your weekend GLOW-up at Skyzone Hamilton SPONSORED EXPERIENCE Hey parents, are you looking to take your kids’ party, get together, or sleepover to the next level?
Are you always searching for a creative and new option for your kids?
How does a glow in the dark trampoline park sound to you?
When it comes to planning indoor weekend fun, keep your evenings open for Skyzone’s GLOW - when the entire park turns into a black light party complete with a DJ for 2 hours. I had another opportunity to take my kids and experience just one of the many programs offered at Skyzone in Hamilton on Quakerbridge Road. But since this was a 9 PM thing, I only took my older daughters. Full disclosure: I have to be honest that I wasn’t sure if I would be up for a late night jump like this, but I totally ate my words once the lights went down. Top 40 music was pumping, and the park was well lit enough to see your way around. It was like starring in your version of the movie "Tron." Even this mom, who prefers to watch from the side and try and get a non-blurry photo of my jumping girls, was jumping too! I can’t say the jumping lasted too long - I’m a little rusty with my trampoline skills. We had been to Skyzone many times before this night, but it was a completely different experience in the dark. As a mom of three aged 11, 9 and 5, am always looking for new ideas for birthday parties or social gatherings, and as my daughters made their way through the ninja warrior course, basketball toss, and parkour blox, I kept thinking that I couldn’t wait to share photos from this experience on Facebook and with any parents who I knew had kids who would love this too. The photos below will give you an idea of what to expect with GLOW. The cost is $28/per person for two hours and includes a GLOW shirt. And be sure to check out Skyzone’s promos - Monthly Memberships are coming back soon but with unlimited availability! For more info and to book your next GLOW, visit skyzone.com/hamilton.
04/26/2019: Skip the crowds! Toddler Time at Skyzone Hamilton offers exclusive jumping for your littles SPONSORED CONTENT “Don’t forget to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge some more!” Let the wise words of Patches O’Houlihan guide you to safety as you dodge packs of wild toddlers who are pumped for the weekend, targeting you at close aim. One Saturday morning, I met up with my friend, a fellow boy mom of three, at Sky Zone Hamilton to check out the Toddler Time program – and enjoyed bounce dodgeball and more. My two older kids have come to Sky Zone before for birthday parties, but this was my first time bringing my youngest – and Toddler Time on Fridays and Saturdays was the perfect time to introduce him to bouncing. The entire park is closed during the hour-long session just for ages 4 and under, which makes it way less crowded, safe and fun for the littles. There’s no rest for the weary though, because Toddler Time is early (10am and 11 am sessions on Friday; 9am on Saturday) – but let’s be honest, aren’t all toddlers up at the crack of dawn, anyway? I found Sky Zone to be a fun place for my toddlers to let off some steam and discover new ways to be active. Also, hanging out with a fellow toddler mom is a special kind of experience. We related in tantrums, but mostly in chasing after excited little people who can’t stay in one place for more than two minutes. Just remember the 5 D’s of dodgeball and you’ll be sure to navigate that toddler life just fine. About Toddler Time: Ages 5 and under. Toddler Time is a great shared experience for child and parent. A time for your little ones to discover the joy of being active, bouncing under the supervision of their parents, and without interference from the big kids. Pricing: Toddler Time Bundle: $15 (For 1 parent or guardian & 1 toddler, includes FREE SkySocks for toddler. Adult SkySocks, $3 add'l (or $5 for Fun Socks), yours to keep & reuse.) Learn more at https://www.skyzone.com/hamilton/programs/toddler-time About Jamie: A Princeton mom to three boys under age seven, Jamie (@jamiengrose) spends her spare time googling flights, finding cute Airbnbs and making lists of books she doesn't have time to read. When she and her husband are not throwing darts on a map to pick their next family destination (hence how they’ve landed their family in Russia, Iceland and Malta, among other places), she enjoys wandering at home with her boys on Princeton’s ivy-covered campus. She can usually be found sniffing candles in the aisles of Homegoods on weekends (a.k.a. running errands).
03/31/2019: Skyzone is great for kids of all ages (and good for your heart) SPONSORED CONTENT When it comes to recreational attractions for children that aren't a hassle for parents, two things often come up as elements that make a favorite place: there are no lines AND the kids get some exercise. In warmer months, it’s easier to get the kids outside for activities like playing on a playground, riding bikes or scooters, and swimming, but when it’s cold, we easily go into hibernation mode and stay indoors for more sedentary pastimes like watching TV, reading, video games, and even playing with toys. The American Heart Association recommends that preschool-aged children should “be physically active and have plenty of opportunities to move throughout the day.” For children aged 6-17, they recommend getting at least 60 minutes a day. When the weather isn’t optimal for playing outside, or if parents really want to wipe their kids out while they enjoy some kid-free time, we highly recommend putting Skyzone on your list.
You might be thinking - oh that trampoline place? Yes, and it’s so much more.
The massive indoor park has trampolines, a rock wall, a warrior course, dodgeball, an area for shooting hoops, a toddler section, foam zone, and more. Unlike other amusement parks that are designed for/aimed at certain age groups, Skyzone is a destination for the entire family. The price starts at $20 for 60-minutes, but the most popular option is 90-minutes for $23. You will also need the orange Skyzone socks, which are $3 if you don't already have a pair. When planning your trip to Skyzone, I suggest spending the extra $3 for the 90-minutes: that was our duration, and the time flew by way too fast! My family of five enjoyed a Saturday afternoon at the Hamilton location, and even though we went at their busiest time of the day (4 PM), I never felt overwhelmed by crowds. There was enough variety for kids to try different games/challenges that there was little to no waiting for a turn. My kids range in age from 5- 11, so while my bigger girls and their friends roamed safely from section to section, I lingered around the toddler section for my youngest to get started with her friend. While I was there, I ran into two friends from preschool who just happened to be annual pass members (a limited time promo from 2018. Click here to see current promotions). The moms were raving so much about why they loved the toddler section that I couldn’t wait to tell them about Toddler Time!
Before learning more about Toddler Time from the team at Skyzone, I just assumed that was what the toddler section was called. When I told the moms about the program, I could see in their eyes that they were making a mental note about another weekday option to keep the kids busy. Toddler Time is like the hidden gem of Skyzone that more people need to talk about! On Friday at 10 and 11 AM, and Saturday mornings at 9 AM, the park is closed to the public so that parents of children up to age 5 can use the space in comfort for only $15. No big kids to run into. No noise to compete with. Just the parents, their kids, friends, and some good quality kinesthetic fun … and no lines! In addition to Toddler Time, Skyzone offers additional specialty programs: Sensory Time ($15) - for children with special needs, Glow ($28) - a 2-hour late night jump party with a DJ and blacklight, and Family Friday ($60) - jump passes + one large pizza + pitcher of soda. Over the next few months, we’ll share highlights from Toddler Time and Glow. Make sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook at @Princetononline for highlights from our visits.
