MONTGOMERY, N.J. — Some of the township's finest residents were recognized by Montgomery Township Committee members at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Ice Cream Social on Saturday, Sept. 14. The event honored first responders, as well as individuals who serve on various boards and commissions.
"Each of you has made an impact on our township, and collectively you have made Montgomery an even better place to live," remarked Mayor Neena Singh. "We are all so fortunate to live in a community where people are so giving of their time and expertise to help others.
" The volunteers had the opportunity to meet and mingle while enjoying ice cream as a small token of appreciation. Some were also able to share their work over the past year, showcasing the result of altruistic collaboration.
"Our staff interacts with many volunteers across departments and our work is made that much better each day because of their contributions to our municipality," explained Township Administrator Lori Savron. "We thank each one of them for taking time out of their busy lives to give back."
