HiTOPS Support Groups Meet in Person This Fall
Beginning on Sept 13, HiTOPS Support Groups will meet in person at HiTOPS new headquarters at 300 Witherspoon St, Suite 206. Groups are also meeting via zoom for those who can't be there in person! Tuesdays from 5-6 pm: TConnect - A group for trans, nonbinary, genderfluid, and gender expansive teens, 14-18.
Wednesdays from 5-6 pm: First & Third - A group for LBGTQ+ teens ages 14-18.
Thursdays from 5-6 pm: Banner - A group for youth, 11-13, who want to learn more about the LGBTQ+ community. Saturdays, 9-10 am only on zoom: TransParenthood - A group for parents and family members of trans, nonbinary, and gender questioning youth.

YW Strive is a new program offered by YWCA Princeton with support from YWCA USA and Google. The 12-week workforce development series will prepare participants with the skills and confidence to use popular computer programs including Google Suite. Classes will be held in person at the YWCA Princeton in Fall 2022. Register for this free program here.

Sourland Spectacular Cycling & Hiking Sept 11-17
All are welcome to participate in the 11th annual Sourland Spectacular to enjoy natural beauty, fresh air, and fun to "Save the Sourlands." Proceeds from the Sourland Spectacular will support the Sourland Conservancy - a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect, promote and preserve the 90-square-mile Sourland Mountain Region. The Sourland Spectacular kickoff event will be held September 10th, from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. Hikers, cyclers, and trail runners are invited to participate "At Your Own Pace" September 10th thru the 17th on Sourland region roads and public hiking trails. Friends of the Lawrence Library September 2022 Book Sale Sept 16 - 19
Shop the Friends of the Lawrence Library’s September 2022 Book Sale for thousands of used, gently-read books for readers of all ages. The sale begins Friday, September 16, at 10:00 a.m. and ends Monday, September 19 at 4:30 p.m. at the Lawrence Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library System, 2751 Brunswick Pike, Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Entry to the sale is free and open during the library’s regular hours. No scanning devices will be allowed. Monday, September 19 will be a $5 per bag day. Book donations for the Friends of the Library Book Sale are being accepted at the Lawrence Headquarters Branch. Art and Sculpture for Off The Wall Affordable Art Show: West Windsor Arts Council is seeking original artwork and sculpture for this year's Off the Wall Holiday Market. The Holiday Market will take place in our gallery with holiday booths and lots of cheer to welcome customers. This year the focus will be on you, the Artist: your story, what makes your process or style unique, your sustainable practices, and any other aspect of your business that helps customers understand who you are. 9/10 – ACP’S Pop-Up Beer Garden, 2-5pm., The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) will host a Pop-Up Beer Garden in partnership with local brewer, Old Hights Brewing Company. The event raises funds for the Arts Council’s longstanding community outreach programs, public art initiatives, and year-long community events and projects. Tickets promise attendees an afternoon in celebration of community, complete with Old Hights’ hand-crafted beers, snacks, and lawn games. The Sourland Mountain String Band will provide live music.

9/10 & 9/11 – Season Opening Concert, PSO, 8pm., The magnificent violinist Anne Akiko Meyers opens the PSO's season September 10-11 with performances of Arturo Márquez’ exciting Fandango violin concerto, written specifically for her. She premiered Fandango in 2021 at the Hollywood Bowl with Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and will perform it at Carnegie Hall later this season. Click here for more information

9/11 – 9/11 Day of Remembrance: History of the American Flag, 2pm., Morven Museum & Garden, Join us in the Stockton Education Center to remember and pay tribute to those who lost their lives on this date 21 years ago. This free event will feature a talk on the history of the American flag by flag historian and collector J. Richard Pierce. Pierce will discuss the evolution of the flag from its beginning until present day and speak to the many meanings the flag holds for generations of Americans. His talk will chronicle the growth of our nation through the prism of our national flag and recount stories that are part of the flag's history. Click here for more information

9/12 – New Member Welcome Night, Central Jersey Choral Society, 7pm., The Central Jersey Choral Society (CJCS) invites singers of all ability levels who are seeking a creative and joyful outlet in their lives to join its community chorus as the organization begins a new season. While some in CJCS are professionally trained, most are not, and choir members enjoy the chance to improve their skills and each other's company. No formal auditions are required; tenor voices are particularly needed, but all voice parts are welcome. 9/16 – Concert, The Princeton Folk Music Society, 8pm.,  56th season opens with John Roberts, a singer of sea shanties, broadside ballads, and pub tunes, from the British Isles. John is known as a master of the English concertina and for his commanding voice. He is familiar to local audiences from his performances in the Princeton Folk Music Society's much loved "Nowell Sing We Clear" Christmas Specials. This concert will also be Live Streamed on YouTube at: princetonfolk.org/livestream. 9/17 – 5ht Annual Delaware River Clean Up, 8:30-11:30amn, Delaware River Greenway Partnership has joined forces with NJ Clean Communities programs in Hunterdon and Mercer County and the NJ Park Service to help tackle the litter along the shore of our Wild and Scenic Delaware River. We hope you can join us in our efforts. This year's cleanup includes fifteen areas along the river ranging from Holland Township in Hunterdon County all the way to Duck Island at the Abbott Marshlands in Hamilton! In addition to shoreline cleanups, there will be one boat-based cleanup as well at the Giving Pond in Bucks County. Registered volunteers should bring insect repellent and water. Comfortable clothing, long pants, and closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Participants will be provided with trash bags and gloves. Click here for more information

9/17 – Mountain Lakes Trail Run/Walk – Benefits Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad, 9am., Join us for a low-key, challenging run or hike in a picturesque setting to benefit the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad. 9/17 – Princeton Centennial Celebration Block Party, 12-5pm., YWCA Princeton. On Saturday, September 17, we’re hosting a block party on the YM/YW field to celebrate 100 years of serving women and families in our community. 9/20 – Supper Club, Hopewell Theatre,6pm., The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, a.k.a. “Jazz Fest,” is the signature annual music and cultural event of the city and has been called America’s greatest festival. 9/24 – Night Under the Stars, The Historical Society of Princeton, 6-10pm., HSP will host its annual Night Under the Stars, celebrating the outdoor farm experience, on Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Updike Farmstead. Featuring its beloved "boots and blue jeans" flair, the event is a festival of local food, drink, and talent, all in an unparalleled historic setting.
Net proceeds from Night Under the Stars support the Society's mission of history education, provided via stewardship of historical collections, exhibitions, public programs, and co-curricular support for schools in the Princeton community and beyond.
