Under the direction of Dr. David A. McConnell, Artistic Director, this Winter Holiday Concert is especially designed to explore diverse music that brings people of different beliefs, traditions, and tastes together. YWCA Princeton’s St. Nicholas Project is seeking help to spread cheer this holiday season. The project provides holiday presents to help local families in need. Gifts can be donated by community members, individuals, families and businesses. To participate, email Jill Jachera at jill.jachera@gmail.com with the following information: Your contact information (name, email, and phone), size of family you wish to be matched with (small, medium, large), and gender preference of children, if you have one. Participants will be matched with a Princeton family and can purchase gifts and a supermarket gift certificate for food. All items must be dropped off by December 13, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., at the Bramwell House located next to the YWCA on the corner of Rt. 206 and Paul Robeson Place.

The Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra is accepting mid-year auditions by video submission! Musicians ages 8-18 who play wind, brass, string and percussion instruments are invited to sign up to audition by December 13, 2021. Deadline to submit audition videos is: December 20, 2021. Audition fee: $25. GYPO includes four ensembles. All groups rehearse in person on Monday evenings at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton - 50 Cherry Hill Road, Princeton, 08540. Spring concert cycle begins January 10, 2022.

Mercer County Ice Skating Center is Open for the Season - Mercer County’s public ice skating center offers a fun, affordable activity for people of all ages. Located at Mercer County Park, the Skating Center is open to the public seven days a week during the operating season, which runs from Nov. 1, 2021 to March 11, 2022. The Skating Center has a full snack bar, a fireplace, lounge area and dining tables. Vending machines, skate rentals, a skate-sharpening service and lockers also are on site. The center offers general public skating sessions, skating lessons, birthday parties and ice time for hockey. 1/2/2022 - Experience the Battle of Princeton, Princeton Battlefield Society, 8:30am., On Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, the Princeton Battlefield Society (PBS) will mark the 245th anniversary of Battle of Princeton – fought on Jan. 3, 1777- with "Experience the Battle of Princeton". A detailed schedule can be found on the PBS website (www.pbs1777.org). The event will begin at 8:30 am at Princeton Battlefield State Park at 500 Mercer Road in Princeton, with a presentation by Larry Kidder, historian and author of TEN CRUCIAL DAYS: Washington's Vision for Victory Unfolds and several other books on Revolutionary War New Jersey. Following this presentation attendees can watch the narrated re-enactment, with British and American reenactors, including artillery. Tours of the historic Thomas Clarke House will also be offered. All are invited to experience, first-hand, the culmination at Princeton of the Ten Crucial Days that changed American history.
