Thursday August 29, 2019
6:30 PM

On Thursday, August 29th, 2019 at 6:30 pm, the Lawrence Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library System will host a lecture by Rock historian Vincent Bruno that will focus on the phenomenal rise of the British pop and rock acts that invaded our shores in the 1960s – from pop groups (The Beatles, The Dave Clark 5, The Animals, The Kinks) to the psychedelic and progressive bands (The Who, Pink Floyd, Cream, Traffic). He will explore highlights from landmark recordings that clearly defined this British pop renaissance era. This journey will also include aspects of British popular culture (cinema, fashion, TV and UK underground) whose influence added to the impact of this remarkable decade

The lecture will be held at the Lawrence Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library System, located at 2751 Brunswick Pike, Lawrenceville. Registration suggested. For more information about the library's programs call 609-883-8294, email or visit
