Stony Brook Walking Tour, Historical Society of Princeton

Before there was a "Princeton," six Quaker families established a community on the fertile ground along Stony Brook. This 2-mile hike explores the lives of the early settlers and the community they established, while following a portion of the trail George Washington took from Trenton to the Princeton Battlefield. Stops include the Stony Brook Meeting House and Burial Ground, walking a portion of the "hidden" back road into Princeton, and a view of the Battlefield. Register. $10. Masks required for indoor portions of tour.

Walking Tour, Witherspoon-Jackson Neighborhood

The Witherspoon-Jackson Historical and Cultural Society (WJHCS) has announced the unveiling of the 29 Heritage Tour plaques in the Witherspoon-Jackson neighborhood, Princeton’s 20th Historic District, next month. The public is invited to join a special walking tour on Saturday, December 11, from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. The tour will begin at the Arts Council of Princeton and end with a reception at Studio Hillier located at 190 Witherspoon Street.

Virtual Telethon, Old Barracks Museum

Join the Old Barracks Museum online on Saturday, December 11 at 1 pm for a virtual telethon fundraiser to support the educational programming of the Old Barracks Museum, including the new Connecting to the Revolution virtual field trips! It's free to tune in, and donations will be accepted at barracks.org/telethon from now through the end of the event! Sponsorship spots are still available for businesses and individuals.

Alcohol Ink Ornaments Workshop, Whole World Arts

Anyone can create colorful abstract paintings using brilliant alcohol inks! Participants will be given Yupo paper and 2 mini ornament frames. These unique paintings are perfect for the holidays or as tiny original art for your walls. All art materials will be provided. Please wear a protective apron or wear old clothes as alcohol ink stains. Materials fee of $10 to be paid to the teaching artist at the start of the workshop.

Screening of "The Ten Day Stand That Defined a Free Country," Washington Crossing State Park

Screening of "The Ten Day Stand That Defined a Free Country," an award-winning 10-minute documentary created by Arjun Agarwal and John Weaver, 2021 graduates of Lawrence High School and The Lawrenceville School, respectively, followed by a lecture by Resource Interpretive Specialist Clay Craighead on the significance of the Christmas night crossing and the Battle of Trenton.

A Christmas Carol PRESENTED BY: Passage Theatre at Mill Hill

This unique adaptation of the classic story uses only two actors, one playing Scrooge, the other playing Charles Dickens. Dickens then transforms himself into all of the other characters, interacting with Scrooge while also conjuring up each new scene.

Doors open at 6 pm with carolers and warm beverages and sweet treats available in the courtyard.

The 9/11 Memorial Performance Project, MCCC Academic Theatre & Dance Company

The 9/11 Memorial Performance Project is the latest production from The Academic Theatre & Dance Company at MCCC. Our incredibly talented students were paired with a survivor or witness to that day's tragic events twenty years ago to hear, record and perform their story in this moving piece of a documentary theatre created especially for Mercer County residents. We at the college believe it’s important for students and audiences alike to have a first-hand account of that monumental day in our history twenty years ago.
