Lambertville Goes Wild will sponsor Secrets of Butterfly Gardening: What Do Butterflies Really Need? on Saturday, February 23, from 10 - 11 a.m. at the Philip L. Pittore Justice Center/ACME Screening Room, 25 South Union Street, Lambertville, New Jersey. How can you attract butterflies to your garden? Can you have a butterfly garden if you have shade? What other conditions do butterflies need to thrive? Learn the secrets to a successful butterfly garden! As a bonus, the same techniques will help birds, too.

Mary Anne Borge, naturalist, photographer, and author of, will lead the program. Mary Anne is the Associate Editor of Butterfly Gardener magazine, and an instructor at Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve.

Batik Dyeing, Artworks

Batik is a "resist" process for making designs on fabric. The artist uses wax to prevent dye from penetrating the cloth, leaving "blank" areas in the dyed fabric. Students will create a Batik wall hanging or scarf using traditional batik hand dipping methods. No experience is necessary. All materials are provided. Registration is limited, so sign up early!
