This week, make a mosaic inspired by the art of ancient Rome.

Artisan Market and Art Sale, West Windsor Arts Council

Now in its ninth consecutive year, the 2019 Artisan Market will showcase the work of 22 artisans on Saturday, November 16th, and Sunday, November 17th, with different artisans on each day. The art council hosts this event at the same time as its popular Off the Wall Affordable Art Sale, a juried show that attracts artists from all over New Jersey.

Early admission hours for West Windsor Arts Council members only: Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon

12pm - Season of Light - Season of Light explores the reasons humans are so fascinated with lighting up our lives during the December holiday season. Discover the astronomical meanings behind different seasonal traditions, including the "Star over Bethlehem."

1pm - One World One Sky -J oin Sesame Street’s Big Bird, Elmo and their Chinese friend Hu Hu Zhu on a discovery of the sun, moon, and stars! 

2pm - Dark Universe - Unravel the complexities of the cosmos with Neil deGrasse Tyson as your guide! Plunge into Jupiter’s atmosphere and explore the mysteries of dark matter and dark energy in this spectacular show. 

3pm - CapCom Go! -The Apollo Story - An immersive, historical documentary that showcases the achievements of the Apollo program and what it took to put the first human on the Moon. It introduces a new generation to the immense challenges they overcame and will inspire them to become the explorers, designers, engineers, thinkers and dreamers of the future. Suitable for all ages. This show is a great way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing, and a perfect complement to the exhibition “Many Inspired Steps” on view in the Riverside Gallery May 25 through November 10.

Tobias Turkey - Shadow Box Theatre @Hopewell Theater

The Shadowbox Theater brings its 50 years of experience to the Hopewell Theater stage for a performance of Tobias Turkey! Tobias is the most determined baby turkey on the farm. In this Thanksgiving tale, Tobias provides children with lots of laughs and valuable lessons. You and your children will be laughing and clapping along with the Shadow Box Theater’s expert storyteller and guitarist as they listen to this delightful funny and wise holiday tale. Expect plenty of laughs and lessons (plus a Thanksgiving-themed sing-along) during a performance of this book-turned–puppet show.

Pole Farm History Walk, Mercer Meadows at Reed Bryan Farm

'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat', Kelsey Theatre - Two Performances

The ultimate story of sibling rivalry, betrayal, immense courage, and redemption comes to the stage of Kelsey Theatre at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) with the Yardley Players' production of "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat," Nov. 8-17.

This family-friendly musical, with music by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Tim Rice, blends pop, country, and rock into an uplifting production filled with unforgettable songs. The show retells the biblical story of Joseph from the Book of Genesis, and recounts the jealousy of his 11 brothers, who fake Joseph's death and sell him into slavery. As a slave, Joseph rises though the ranks in the service of Egyptian tycoon Potiphar, and when others learn of his ability to interpret dreams, he catches the attention of Pharaoh.

Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors and students and may be purchased online at www.kelseytheatre.org or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at (609) 570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible, with free parking next to the theater.
