18th Century Dentistry at Rockingham

Sunday June 9, 2019
12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

On Sunday, June 9, Marjory Wienkop will be on hand in the Dutch barn with a display of colonial-era surgeon-dentist instruments, related objects, and information on the real story of who took care of teeth, what knowledge they had or didn't have, and what other services they provided in the time of George Washington.

This program will be offered from noon to 5:00 pm. Visitors can come at any time within that period. Unfortunately (or fortunately), there will be no actual tooth extractions or other surgeries performed that day, but there will be much fun and enlightenment in the toothsome ways of the dental "professional" of the 18th-century! Come to visit with the surgeon-dentist!

Rockingham is located at 84 Laurel Avenue/Kingston-Rocky Hill Rd. (Rte. 603) in Franklin Township, 1 mile north of Rte. 27 in Kingston, and 1 mile south of Rte. 518 in Rocky Hill. For further information, please call 609-683-7132 or go to

25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee - Kelsey Theatre

Sunday June 9, 2019
2:00 PM

An eclectic group of six students competes in the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words in hopes of winning the ultimate prize – attending the National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC. Six spellers enter, intent on never hearing the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Only one speller will leave with the prize. But at least the losers get a juice box! This is a hilarious ride, complete with audience participation. Please note: ONLY the matinee performances are family friendly.

1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor - 609-570-3333 - $20.

Through June 16.

After being banished and threatened with death, Rosalind flees persecution of her uncle’s court, accompanied by her cousin Celia to find safety and, eventually, love, in the Forest of Arden. But things are not always what they seem in Shakespeare’s “As You Like It.” Under the leadership of Artistic Director Jon Ciccarelli, The Hudson Shakespeare Company is known for utilizing some of the best young and experienced actors, directors and crew from around the tri-state area.

The summer’s second Shakespeare in the Park performance will be on July 15 when the company presents “Coriolanus.”
