Chinese New Year Festival - Plainsboro Public Library

On Sunday, February 10th, at 12:00 PM, watch the community’s wonderful Chinese artists and calligraphers perform demonstrations of Chinese brush painting and calligraphy in the 1st floor Cafe area. Not far away, Ms. Allison Kwok will teach Chinese knotting and Ms. Pat Helck will lead kids in a craft in the 1st floor main area.

In the 1st floor Community Room, learn how to write Chinese calligraphy yourself, or create your own elaborate Peking Opera mask! Starting at 2:00 PM, our games and riddles will also go live in the 1st floor Community Room. Earn tickets for each game you win or riddle you guess, and exchange them for prizes!

Beth El Synagogue Werner Lecture Fund Presents Bombshell

On Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 2:00 pm, the Beth El Synagogue of East Windsor Werner Lecture Fund presents the film Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story. Actress Hedy Lamarr was one of Hollywood's top leading ladies in the 1940s. Behind the glamour and sex appeal, was a talented and inquisitive inventor who created a radio system that is now considered the basis of Bluetooth technology.

Spanish Music Concert, The New School for Music Study

Travel with us to Spain on Sunday, February 10 as the faculty of The New School for Music Study perform a recital of Spanish music, including compositions by Albeniz, de Falla, Granados, and Mompou. The recital will also include two compositions that were inspired by Spain: Debussy's La Puerta del Vino and Liszt's Spanish Rhapsody.

The recital includes performances by Marvin Blickenstaff, Kristin Cahill, Jason Gallagher, Angela Triandafillou Jones, Kairy Koshoeva, and Allison Shinnick, with special guests Eva Kastner and Trevor Thornton.

Bruce Springsteen: Rock and Roll Future - Author Talk, Princeton Public Library

Photographer Barry Schneier talks about “Bruce Springsteen: Rock and Roll Future,” his book of images from the May, 1974, concert that changed the trajectory of Springsteen’s career. Joining Schneier in conversation about this pivotal moment in 20th-century American music will be Sean Wilentz, the George Henry Davis 1886 Professor of American History at Princeton University. A book signing will follow the presentation.
