Princeton Photo Workshop: By Land and By Water: The Lower Manhattan Cityscape

We'll meet at the Jersey City Ferry Dock and hop on the ferry for a short ride to the World Financial Center in Downtown Manhattan. From the ferry we'll have views of Ellis Island, The Statue of Liberty, Manhattan's skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge. After docking, we'll make our way to Battery Park, then up to the World Trade Center's Memorial Pools. As the light changes, we'll talk about composition and camera settings under different conditions. On the return ferry ride we will have an opportunity to make night images of the Hudson River and the New York skyline.

The film features a central New Jersey arts community that has continued through three generations. Special guest appearances by filmmaker Ilene Dube, and artists Mel Leipzig and Jonathan Shahn who will share a conversation about their artistic relationship, as well as musical performances by the Woe Nellies and The Big Rascals will round out the evening along with an ice cream social.
