A Year with Frog and Toad, McCarter Theater at Matthews, 91 University Place, Princeton, 609-258-2787
3 p.m., Musical based on Arnold Lobel's children's books., www.mccarter.org

A hit on Broadway, A Year with Frog and Toad was nominated for three Tony Awards, including Best Musical! Based on Arnold Lobel’s beloved children’s books, it hops from page to stage as it follows two great friends—the cheerful and popular Frog and the rather grumpy, curmudgeonly Toad—through four fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation in the spring, they plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, and go sledding in the snow, learning life lessons along the way and that friendship weathers all seasons. Part vaudeville, part make-believe, and all charm, A Year with Frog and Toad is an inventive, exuberant, and enchanting experience for the whole family—ages 6 to 106!
